Dr. Sylvia Zapien-Garcia

Dr. Sylvia Zapien-Garcia joined the staff of the Animal House in August 2002 after 11 years of practice in Glendale.  Dr. Garcia’s practice is limited to dogs and cats which she enjoys as it provides many challenges and rewards.  Dr. Garcia graduated from the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of California, Davis in 1990.  She has a Bachelor of Science degree from California State University, Los Angeles.  Dr. Garcia was born in Los Angeles, grew up in Rosemead and has worked in the veterinary field since finishing high school.  She lives in Monrovia with her husband, David and their three sons, David Jr., Joseph and John.  The Garcia family also includes three cats-Saber, Luna and Nefrititi and a freckled dog named Hermione.
